Often. Photos beside a ruler help, but accurate caliper measurements or the original part are better. Some safety-critical, regulated, or heavily loaded parts may be declined or treated as prototypes.
It is a planning range, not a checkout total. It becomes much tighter when you provide slicer grams and machine time. Design and repair work needs human review because unknowns matter.
